Community Involvement & Development

Chamber membership offers a variety of opportunities to get involved and make a contribution to our community. The Chamber has nine committees and numerous special events that are designed to make Seguin a better place to live, work, and conduct business. The following are just a few of the ways you can get involved. See the Chamber's Program of Work for more opportunities.

  • Help Seguin Shine was launched by the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce in 2000 and is an example of how the Chamber is working to make Seguin an inviting and vibrant city for our children for now and the future. It is a program that improves the quality of life for our whole community. Get involved with our beautification efforts by joining the Beautification Committee.

  • The Governmental Affairs Committee is actively involved in identifying rules, regulations and legislation that may have an impact on your business. Through this committee the Chamber actively supports those that will help your business and lobbies to defeat anti-business bills and regulations in Seguin, Austin and Washington. Your input and support is critical.

  • Leadership Seguin identifies and brings together men and women who seek the opportunity to expand their involvement in community affairs and are willing to assume leadership positions to help make our community a better place to live and work. It targets emerging leaders from the community, businesses, and professions who have established themselves as having leadership potential and have shown a concern for Sequin's future.

  • Sponsored by the Education Committee, Family Friendly Business program is designed to increase parental and other volunteer involvement in education through the support of local businesses such as yours. Employers provide support for employees to participate in school activities, attend conferences and further their own education.

  • The Seguin Community Development Initiative involves a variety of subcommittees to: promote Seguin regionally and nationally; promote development to meet housing needs; build a larger pool of technically competent workers; and to retain business and industry in our community.
