Mission Statement:
Provide a forum for local and area industries to exchange information and ideas on topics that have a direct impact on today's industry.
- Encourage the Seguin area industries to participate in the Educator Internship Program.
- Provide area high schools with a list of current area industries.
- Provide program information to industry representative at committee meetings.
- Provide program information to the Manufacturers' CEO Roundtable.
- Assist area students with industrial related Science Fair Projects.
- Inform appropriate school personnel that the Chamber will help match up students with appropriate industry representative to help with their project.
- Provide an opportunity for area industrial / manufacturing concerns to share common concerns, opportunities, and challenges.
- Incorporate two panel discussions with the area industries at the regular meetings.
- Provide area schools with information to help them meet the training needs of area business and industry.
- Survey area industry to determine training / education needs.
- Provide survey results to area schools.
- Create awareness of area industries and their significance to our community.
- Conduct three tours of area industrial / manufacturing concerns.
- Provide wage and benefit information to area business and industry.
- Conduct a Tri-County Wage and Benefit Survey in conjunction with New Braunfels and San Marcos Chambers of Commerce.
- Provide information / education opportunities to area businesses.
- Conduct two information / education seminars.
- Create a close working relationship with the Central Texas Technology Center (CTTC).
- Provide industry training needs survey to CTTC.
- Sponsor a tour of CTTC to area employers.
- Attract qualified employees for business and industry in the Seguin Area.
- Host a "Human Resource Day" in April to include all local news media and San Antonio Business Journal and San Antonio Express Metro edition.
- Participate in the TLU Career Day.
- Recruit area businesses to provide career opportunity information.
- Increase membership of the Industrial Relations Committee.
- Invite and encourage counselors and administrators of Seguin, Navarro and Marion ISD's to actively participate in the committee.
- Invite human resource professionals from area industries to participate in the committee.
