The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the availability of grants for groups that enhance and promote the quality of life in Seguin. The source of funds is voluntary donations to the Help Seguin Shine Fund from City of Seguin utility customers. Springs Hill Water Corp. customers also donate to the fund with their contributions.

Your group can apply for a reimbursement grant for a project that benefits the community as a whole, creates economic value to the city, and has visibility and impact. We are particularly interested in funding projects that demonstrate community involvement through the use of volunteers and show partnerships between community groups. We are looking for projects that will:

Beautify or improve the general attractiveness of the city

• Enhance Seguin's parks
  
• Enhance seasonal or permanent lighting or decorations
  
• Improve city infrastructure or capital improvements
  
• Enhance recreation for Seguin residents or visitors
  
• Increase opportunities for tourism, sporting events, competitions, conventions, seminars or meetings
  

Projects will be judged on their feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and community benefits. If your project is not funded, the reviewers will let you know why.

Please fill out the project description form and send it with a "Before" photograph of the location of your proposed beautification project to the Help Seguin Shine Fund, Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 710, Seguin TX 78156. The 2004 deadline is Monday, May 4, 2004.
