Seguin is strategically located in South Central Texas along the main Texas arteries Interstate 10 and Highway 90 as a supreme launching point or staging area to:
  • San Antonio - 34 miles to the west
  • Austin - 50 miles to the north
  • Corpus Christi - 145 miles to the south
  • Houston - 160 miles to the east
  • Dallas - 242 miles to the northeast
  • The ports of Houston and Corpus Christi are nearly equal distance from Seguin.

Future growth for the city of Seguin will be positively impacted by the construction and completion of State Highway 130. This toll corridor will parallel Interstate 35 from Austin to San Antonio, bisecting Interstate 10 approximately five miles east of downtown. The highway is expected to route commercial traffic through town and send a revived influx of domestic traffic through Seguin as well.

Seguin is home to Texas Lutheran University and several industries, including Alamo Industrial, CMC Steel Texas, Continental, Hexcel and Texas Power Systems.
