So, with their Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) State Championship (Division II, Six-Man Football) under their belts, tradition reigned as the Lifegate Christian School Falcons received their rings at a ceremony at the School last month.

The rings were designed by Balfour and includes the "Heirborn" symbol worn by the team throughout the year. Each ring was personalized with the player or coach's name, jersey number, and "14-0," recognizing the undefeated season capped by a 60-14 victory over Fredericksburg Heritage School in the stae finals Dec. 8 at Zephyr ISD Bulldog Field.

Nearly 100 family members and friends came out to celebrate the presentation. In remarks prior to handing out the rings, Head Coach John Rabon complemented his squad for their hard work and effort as well as their strong Christian character. He also singled out parents for their influence in their childrens' lives.

"Normally, this statement has negative connotations, but in this case it's a positive one. With these young men, the apple did not fall far from the tree," said Coach Rabon. Besides winning the state title, the Falcons received a number of additional honors.

Coach John Rabon was named District 4-II Coach of the Year and also was awarded the San Antonio Quarterback Club's Sub-4A Coach of the Year award and the Seguin Gazette Enterprise's Coach of the Year honors.

Eight Falcons were selected to All-District teams: Seniors Jayson Mittelberg, Gabriel Galvan, Kyle Coffman and Tyler Swisher, as were Juniors Patrick Haley, Kenny Cramblitt, Joshua Dodson and Jacob Swick.
