It gets hot during the summer in Texas, but there are plenty of places to stay cool in Seguin. Seguin boast a 15,000 sq ft wave pool with volleyball courts, playground area, and picnic tables. The new 48 acre Park West has athletic fields, a play-scape, nature trails and a splash pad for the little ones. The beautiful Guadalupe River winds through Seguin and offers free boat ramps, fishing piers, picnic areas and campgrounds. The City of Seguin also has established “float trails” on the river with no shuttle or portage necessary, so you can explore at your own leisure. If you’re looking for relaxation, head over to Son’s Island where you can rent a riverside cabana and spend weekend riding jet skis, paddle boarding and grilling. Seguin’s local amusement part, ZDT’s, offers hours of summer fun to visitors. From go-karts and water coasters, to wall climbing and the nation’s steepest roller coaster, you are sure to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

The arts community in Seguin is vibrant and growing. The Seguin Art League conducts workshops for aspiring artists, while the “You’re so Crafty” Art Workshop host paint your own pottery and Paint and Sip Canvas parties. The Teatro de Artes de Juan Seguin promotes cultural art and there is always history to be discovered at The Texas Theatre and Sebastopol House Historic Site. Once a year, Seguin comes together for the Pecan Fest Heritage Days for pecan baking competitions, hayrides, western reenactments, petting zoo, and much more. If you’re looking for live music, you can check out local artists at The Palace Theater or attend a Symphony Concert at Texas Lutheran University.
