• Seguin Chamber members endorse Seguin and Marion ISD Bond Elections

Early voting started yesterday for two school districts' Bond Elections. The vision of the Seguin Chamber is To Make Seguin the Best Choice To Live, Work, Play and Prosper. Following the approval of the bond elections by Seguin and Marion ISD, the Seguin Chamber invited the superintendents of both districts to the April General Membership Meeting to explain the proposals.

Following that educational opportunity, The Chamber polled its members regarding their positions on the proposals. Seguin ISD members were 89% in favor of the Seguin ISD proposal and Marion ISD members were 90% in favor of the Marion ISD proposal.

In the Seguin ISD, voters will be deciding on a $64.7 million bond issue for new and renovated facilities throughout the district. This includes but is not limited to the proposed $39 million renovation of A.J. Briesemeister Middle School and the $17.3 rebuild of a new Matador Stadium at its existing site. Marion ISD voters will also be deciding on a $22 million bond issue for facilities.

Early voting for the May 4 Election runs through April 30. Saturday and Sunday are not included. Sample ballots plus early voting and election day locations and hours are available on the elections office website at www.co.guadalupe.tx.us/elections.
