    GUADALUPE CO. JOBLESS RATE DECREASES TO 2.5 PERCENT
    Workforce Solutions Alamo releases April 2019 Job Report
     
    (May 17, 2019) San Antonio, Texas – Workforce Solutions Alamo released information today indicating that the Guadalupe County unemployment rate decreased to 2.5 percent in April, down from the 3.0 rate reported in March.
     
    Guadalupe County’s unemployment rate registered slightly lower than the overall jobless rate of 2.6 percent for the 13-county Workforce Solutions Alamo area, which includes Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, McMullen and Wilson counties. McMullen County registered the lowest unemployment rate amongst the counties at 1.5 percent while Atascosa County registered the highest rate at 3.0 percent.
     
    Comparing the Workforce Solutions Alamo metro area to the state and nation, the Texas seasonally unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate decreased to 3.0 percent in April, down from the 3.5% rate reported in March. The nation’s unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate decreased to 3.3 percent in April, down from the 3.9% rate reported in March. Summarizing the seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for the state and the nation, the Texas seasonally adjusted rate decreased to 3.7 percent for April, down from 3.8% rate reported in March, while the nation’s unemployment rate decreased to 3.6 percent in April, down from the 3.8% rate reported in March.
