• Celebrating 19 years

    • The specific purpose of the SAYLA is to provide high school students who are entering the 11th grade or 12th grade residing in Guadalupe County, Texas with a theoretical and operational foundation in the essential skills, beliefs, and practices of leadership to prepare the students to make a positive impact on the quality of life in their community.
    • The objectives of the SAYLA are to identify students who have demonstrated leadership qualities or displayed a potential toward leadership to participate as a group representing a diverse group of students including gender, ethnicity, and geographic areas.  The students selected will be presented with in-depth programs to acquaint them with community needs, opportunities, challenges, and resources, and to encourage interaction with community leaders, as well as being given the opportunity to foster opportunities for teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Students must be willing to commit to attending all activities and have all required signatures of permission. They must have passed every course in the last semester prior to the application deadline.
    • The estimated value of the program tuition is $500. Thanks to the generosity of community sponsors, students will attend the program for $25 (non-refundable).

  • Congratulations SAYLA Class of 2023

  • The 2023 SAYLA Class sold Shipley’s Donut cards for $15 each and had a bake sale at the 32nd Annual Raffle Night with Rotary Club of Seguin. Proceeds from the fundraiser went to Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center and NAMI Guadalupe.
The 2023 SAYLA Class completed their community service project at the Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center. Students cleaned out 7 flower beds, and sorted out the donation room. The students also presented the center with their beautiful personalized doormat. In the garden, there will now be a therapeutic environment purposefully designed for the counselor to have one-on-one time with each child. By adding the new additions to the center it will continue to help the center provide a warm, homelike environment for children.
NAMI Guadalupe received a brand new banner to help promote their Your Best Life Festival "Happy, Healthy, Whole." This festival happens at the Seguin Events Complex every second Saturday in May from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is FREE and open to the public.
